Want to Know ABOUT SIMMI, an NGO?

We are SIMMI foundation, a PAN India NGO from Haryana, India. Our goal is to contribute to the development of society and to dignify the poor and needy. We organize welfare projects aimed at developing Livelihood, Healthcare, Women Empowerment, and Education, as we believe that the development of these aspects of society will contribute to a country's development. We have conducted more than 150 projects to help more than 500,000 people with the help of more than 10,000 volunteers.

Our Goal: Planting 5 lakh+ trees by 2023.

It is known that industrialization resulted in the mass production of goods, which boosted economic development and increased the standards of living. This gave people time for relaxation and leisure. Industrialization in India first started in the 1850s and only had an upward trend from that point. Today, industries can be found occupying large areas, which is good for the economy and allows us to self-sustain. The flipside is, industries sometimes occupy large areas of forests. Industries also force the Forest Department by paying them to follow monoculture, which is growing a particular species of plant.

Over the past few years, trees are being planted and artificial forests are also being constructed, but they cannot substitute naturally grown forests. The trend of unchecked deforestation continues at an alarming rate. Realizing the importance of trees, especially in this pandemic, we set a goal of planting 5 lakh+ trees by 2023. So far, we have planted more than 75,000 trees, and we will keep planting trees until we reach our goal. Our motto is "One Plant, One Life", which means a tree saves a life.

As we know,  they store water in their roots in case of rainfall, prevent soil erosion by holding onto the soil, and a forest area prevents excessive damage due to floods by slowing them down, and most importantly, they produce fresh air for us to consume. Trees contribute a lot to balance the environment and bridge several organisms. With them playing such a prominent role in nature, it is important that we plant as many trees around us as possible. This campaign not only aims to plant trees but also to spread awareness about the importance of trees.

Livelihood and Women Empowerment:

We work towards wiping poverty and dignifying the poor and needy by providing them with livelihood, and by working towards women empowerment, we want to spread awareness on the key role a woman plays in the family and the larger society and provide them with opportunities.

Bring a Change:

Working towards the Education of the needy is vital because it is a basic right of each and every individual, which provides them with perspective and knowledge to make good decisions. We work towards developing healthcare facilities and the reason is obvious in these challenging times. Like a lighthouse, we show you the path to reach the land of hope and happiness, from the scary dark sea of pessimism and injustice. By focusing on these fundamental aspects, we want to see a self-reliant society with equity, legitimate rights, honesty, and justice.

We believe that for a society to change, the citizens that are part of the society must also actively take part in working towards a significant change. Because the people know what is best for them. Therefore, we actively encourage and include civil society in our projects.

Our Initiatives:

We provide high-quality educational programs, child and women development programs, food, and cloth for the poor. We have conducted many programs for children such as Olympiads for their growth, sports events to encourage healthy competition and sportsmanship, arts and crafts programs to bring out the creativity inside them, free medical camps to keep their health in check, educational tours to inculcate a sense of curiosity within the students, and much more.

Events

We have conducted various events for the needy such as donating food, clothes, spreading awareness, vaccination drives, feeding stray animals, cleanliness drives, health and sanitation awareness especially in these times, infrastructure programs such as repairing roads, building libraries, and community halls in rural areas. We are assisting those that have been affected by natural calamities, donating masks and serving victims of Covid-19 in these challenging times. We are able to help more people daily with the support of generous people in the form of a monetary donation, or by volunteering, interning and as well as in the form of material contributions.

Mission:

Our mission is to work towards a socially sensitive society that understands that not everyone in the society has the same resources and opportunities, and recognizes that the poor do require such opportunities, and needs attention which only is given to focus on providing them with what they need and dignify them, and not to further isolate them from society. Even though we believe in inequality, it is necessary to channel resources where they are needed the most and not where they are in abundance. This simply means that helping the poor with basic necessities and not also providing these necessities to the rich in the name of "equal share" would be obsolete. The privileged members of the society must understand the situation of those that are unfortunate and can come together to share the resources they easily have access to and bridge a gap to maintain harmony in the society and to invoke a sense of fraternity among them.

Vision:

Our vision is to spread positivity and awareness among the general public so that they can view society with an open mind. In this modern era, negativity spreads like wildfire due to incorrect information and overthinking. To overcome this, we believe that spreading awareness is key, which spreads the right information to people so that they can think rationally and make good logical decisions. To accept new perspectives and to deduce what is true, each and every person needs an open mind. An open mind does not stick to one belief and is receptive to new perspectives which is an important trait to be able to grow in an ever-changing world.

Our projects focus on the basic aspects of Livelihood, Education, Healthcare, and Women Empowerment. We believe that these aspects impact the development of a country and therefore, treating these aspects with equal importance will help us achieve our vision.

AIMS of SIMMI Foundation:

1)Eradicate Poverty:

Poverty is one of the biggest weights that is pulling our country down from development. We do our part to contribute to eradicating poverty by organizing food and cloth donation campaigns for the needy, by providing them a livelihood to enhance their dignity, and most importantly spreading awareness about the alarming situation of poverty in India.

2)Education for All:

We have high-quality educational programs to create a society that is socially sensitive, independent, self-sustaining, and moreover, has the capacity to make good decisions, educating society is vital. If a person is educated with accurate and appropriate knowledge, the person can think logically and make rational decisions that will contribute to the development of the society they are a part of.

3) Access to Basic Necessities of Life:

Not everyone in society is fortunate enough to gain access to basic necessities like food, shelter, water, clothes, etc. We fill in the gap by helping the unfortunate by providing them with these basic necessities and showing them a way to earn a livelihood for themselves.

4)Women Empowerment:

In the modern era, citizens are starting to realize the vital role a woman plays in a family and in the larger society. The fact that women and men are equal is being realized in society. We conduct educational and awareness programs to spread this information so that women get the same opportunities that men get.

5)Sustainable Development:

Sustainable development is simply the concept of development that uses resources carefully so that these resources won't be exhausted for future generations. We must find new ways of development that use less or no limited resources at all. On the other hand, we conduct awareness programs and as well as cleanliness drives to preserve the balance in the environment so that resources are produced for future generations.

6) Aspire to Be The Beacon of Light for The Less Fortunate:

We prominently work towards lending a helping hand to the less fortunate. We believe that society needs to understand that not all people have the same amount of opportunities and resources and the privileged must come together to share the resources with the needy to maintain a sense of community and bridge the gap between the rich and poor.
